Materials:
- magnetic letters
- ice cube trays
- water table (or kitchen sink
- squirt bottles
- warm water.
Step-by-step guide:
- Place the magnetic letters inside the ice cube trays, making sure they are securely embedded.
- Fill the trays with water and pop them into the freezer until the letters are completely frozen.
- Take the frozen letter cubes to the water table or kitchen sink and release them from the ice cube trays.
- Provide your child with squirt bottles or eyedroppers filled with warm water (a postpartum peri bottle works great too!).
- Encourage your child to squirt or drop warm water onto the ice cubes to melt them and reveal the hidden letters.
- As the letters are freed, prompt your child to identify each one.
