Life with young kids was so overstimulating and moving too fast for me to keep up. I was struggling with burnout and exhaustion. All I wanted was everything to calm down so I could truly enjoy my kids being little! ❤️

Over the last year, I made a commitment to slow it all down. If society and expectations were wanting us to speed things up, I was determined to pave our own path. We’ve made small changes that have made a BIG difference for our family.

Making changes, doing something different, and going against the “norm” can be scary, but the hardest part is truly just taking the first step. Follow along with me @apopofyou and we can create the calm homes we dream of together!

This entertained my (almost) 3 year old for 20 MINUTES. That’s like 4 hours in mom-time 😆

But seriously…a good ol’ fashioned cutting box is one of our go-to activities because it’s so simple and takes almost no time to set-up.

Things I’ve thrown in cutting boxes:
- wrapping paper
- magazine pages
- plastic straws
- pipecleaners
- junk mail
- scrap construction paper

Can’t even make this stuff up 🫣

We found out last week that our entire shower floor was rotted after the drain was installed incorrectly by someone we hired…in 2019

Still LOLing that I spent precious preschool time cleaning this bathroom three days before this happened…

(JK. I’m not LOLing 🙄🫠)

Now since he’s already reno-ing this mess, let’s see if I can get him to put up an accent wall in there while he’s at it. 👀 Always a bright side!
